Keeping Up With Technology

in #technology7 years ago

Going back and looking at this 120gb IPod I bought almost a decade ago, I realize just how strange it is that we become tired of our perfectly working gadgets. I mean, there is literally nothing wrong with this device, and it does essentially the same exact function that any other media player would do in 2017. You load songs onto it in wav or mp3 and plug in headphones. You don't have to use your phone, and it's still got pretty big storage space, even for today's standards.
But I think we've been bred in this current culture to look at an IPod like this and think "wow dude, that's an ancient throwback", and it is, I agree. But it really ....isn't that obsolete. Sure, it could have a brighter, more high res screen. Sure it could have bluetooth or wifi, whatever. But if you're going out and listening to music, you could still plug in headphones if you didn't mind that part and listen to music and movies. We rarely appreciate the things we have because we've been taught to always impulse buy and have the latest and greatest, often times never fully using what we already have that's good.
