I think it is pretty easy to say that AI is dangerous for our existence, but it would help us so much too. That´s the dilema.
Just like in the past, genius like Albert Einstein warned us about the dangerous of the atomic bomb and the consequences. But he built it anyways because it would "help".
Nowadays we have experts/geniuses warning us about the incredible danger that AI presents and I'm pretty sure that humans can't resist on building the best possible version of it, until they realise they created something, once again, that endangered life in the planet.
There were already experiments, and AI very fast invented 3 new languages that only it could understand before they close the program and pulled the plug.
You're right. There are two sides to this: the good and the insane, and it wouldn't be long before we see how insane technology can be :p
