ProtonMail now offers free @pm.me email addresses to current and new users
ProtonMail, the fully encrypted and free email service created by scientists from CERN and visiting scientists from Universities like Harvard and MIT, which is hosted under 1000 meters of solid rock in the world's most secure data center in Switzerland, now offers a new feature to current and new users.
While originally you could only register @protonmail.com and @protonmail.ch email addresses, you can now get an additional @pm.me email address for free, so that you have less characters to type when giving someone your email. The inbox is shared between the addresses, so emails sent to @pm.me will arrive in your @protonmail.(com|ch) inbox. Sending emails from @pm.me is reserved for paying customers right now due to Spam concerns, but receiving emails is available for free users.
You can activate the feature for your ProtonMail account by going into the Settings and then selecting "pm.me" in the menu on the left. Just click the "Activate" button and you can start receiving emails at [email protected].
