Robots Taking Jobs?

in #technology6 years ago

CNBC has reported on the world's first humanless warehouse that is run by robots! Coming out of Japan, Mujin, spun from Tokyo University, wish to "help" the world with these new warehouses. Unfortunately, what kind of help is this if it is putting people out of work?

People who have seen some of my older articles know that I'm against robotics, cybernetics, and especially AI technology. Although this tech is seemingly harmless as the tech demo for the bots (which was a large arm) was unloading a shipping crate. One package was slightly damaged which will serve for more testing. A small quote from American co-founder and CTO, Rosen Diankov.

"Unfortunately, just having a robot system work perfectly is not enough, and we need to have the equipment and system around the robot to finally allow it to contribute to the operations of the business," said Diankov. "Once there are enough solid standardized components for warehouse automation, we can focus our energies to quickly deploy and perfect them."

So, could this leave an impact on the economy? That depends if these robots will be replacing existing workers or if there will be warehouses opened specifically for this man's tech to operate in. While technology has encompassed a large part of our lives at this point, I don't think it should be given our jobs, given intelligence to make their own decisions. As most who follow the EOC know, Hollywood leaves clues about the future and how many movies out there have AI or Cyborgs or some kind of technology-based lifeform overthrowing mankind? More than enough. I-Robot and Terminator come to the front of my head. For the anime fans need I remind people of the Androids in Dragon Ball?! Jokes aside, it's something serious to think on. There are a few billionaires that are against this, more than a few scientists saying they're working on machines or hybrids like this that implant into the human brain making us the machine. It's not a future I want to look for. Not if man is behind the design. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think in time robots will run most of our jobs leaving us to the grotesque overweight hoverchair people in Wall-E? We're already pretty lazy. Having technology helps that come to the front. Leave your thoughts below!

I really like your post. It's possible that robots will take jobs. What time frame do you think this will happen in? Do you have a plan for when it happens.

This is actually part of the plan unfolding. Most of the Entire New Kingdom will have things automated with only simple tasks really being carried out by humans, much of everything else will be automated.

New Kingdom tech and human built tech are two different things. AI and such made by humans is no good.

This won't be good for some people but great for others

I just started using a Eufy robot vacuum cleaner in my house this week. I have a neighbor who comes to clean house once or twice per month and she used to spend about two hours each visit sweeping and mopping the floor. Now my wife will have her doing other cleaning projects - the windows will be cleaner because we bought a floor-sweeping robot! The floor is cleaned automatically every single day. You can eat off it!

We have a lot of neighbors who are subsistence farmers. They will continue to subsistence-farm no matter how many robots are in the world. Every single one of them would be thrilled to have a robot vacuum cleaner in their house. Automating is a no-brainer.
