Receive all the steemians a cordial greeting from this humble servant, here I bring you another chapter of this brief course of basic refrigeration, in this opportunity to explain how a cooling system works and the one that I bring next belongs to a simple domestic refrigerator without Frost.

To better understand this chapter, I recommend that you go through the previous articles.

Basic Cooling I part

Basic Cooling II part

n this first figure I show you the simplest mechanical refrigeration system (applies to refrigerators and domestic air conditioners).

Analyzing this image we will take as starting point the compressor motor, the main element that by means of its correct operation sucks, compresses and expels the refrigerant gas at high pressure and high temperature towards the condenser where it is sub cooled and condensing as it circulates through he, then, at the condenser outlet is the filter drier where the refrigerant gas arrives in a liquid state and is purified by extracting from it all the impurities and humidity absorbed throughout the system reaching the capillary tube, the thinnest tube in the system ,to bring a constant pressure to the evaporator where the refrigerant gas expands and begins the absorption of heat from the refrigerated space evaporating and then returning to the compressor motor in a gaseous state at low pressure and low temperature to complete the cycle and restart it.

Next in the following figure I show you the electrical diagram of a simple domestic refrigerator without frost.

According to what is described in the previous article, we proceed to interpret the electrical system from left to right starting from the power source, commonly known as the plug in our houses, we observe two cables that feed a bulb preceded in one of its lines by a switch, this switch is the one that we have in the doors of the refrigerators that is triggered as a trigger when closing or opening the door to turn on or pay only the light bulb, then we find in one of its lines the thermostat that regulates the temperature according to is set manually by the user who will connect or disconnect the circuit to obtain the desired temperature.

When we reach the next point in the diagram, we will divide the circuit into two parts, we will find the clock, a time device with two cycles, one for cooling and one for defrosting.

When the clock is connected inside with thermal bimetal, it is working in the defrost cycle where only the defrost resistance will be turned on if the bimetallic thermal is frozen or at a certain temperature to protect the system from overheating or melting. The heat induced by the defrosting resistance, when this working time period is reached, it is disconnected and automatically entering the cooling cycle putting the compressor to work.
