Amazon Echo Dot 2nd Gen

The Echo Dot 2 is a very cool device, it can do the same task as its big brother such as turn on lights (with special bulbs) or play songs through Spotify or on Amazon Music, among other cool tasks. I have to point out, to play music on Spotify we have to get Spotify Premium.

This device can do all the tasks as its big brother, the only difference that we can notice is the speakers from the original Echo so, do not expect this device to be so good with the sound, that's why I bought bluetooth speakers.

After I used it for one week, this device really surprised me because, I watched reviews on youtube comparing Alexa vs Google Home and the winner was Google Home (the reviews are from 3 or 4 months ago) but, what I am seeing now is that Amazon already implemented good things that Google Home offers such as context conversation and, more information about what you are asking for.

And to conclude this review, the Echo Dot is way cheaper than Google Home costing $49 vs $129. This is because Google Home has better speakers but if you want the Echo Dot to do simple task and listen to music in a small room then the Echo Dot is the perfect option.

Now lets take a look to the pros and cons....

PROS

1. It's cheaper.
2. I think it is nicer and more contemporary.
3. It is smaller.
4. Useful.

CONS

1. Google Home is a very strong competitor and it could be a better option for the long term.
2. You have to have Spotify Premium to play music though it.
3. If the speakers are important to you, then this is not the device you are looking for.
