The End of Stuff As We Know It | Rise of 3-D Printers and Futurology
'I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.' -Albert Einstein

I was reading an article on futurology yesterday, and the rise of encapsulated homes and 3-D Printed neighborhoods isn't a far off dream (or nightmare). There were so many interesting points written on how humans get bored quite easily, and soon furniture and clothing will be immediately printable for those whom can afford it. Imagine being tired of a couch in 2040, so one goes online to buy a new biodegradable piece of furniture which is basically printed out and shipped immediately.
Imagine an entire neighborhood of printed homes, fully customization to each person's preference. This sounds incredible in some ways, yet people always manage to harbor resentment and will want to exploit this type of technology. Imagine bank blueprints printed in the future with Chinese and anonymous hackers being able to retrieve layouts of the United States most influential organizations. The future may be a complete mess until we figure out how to optimize our technology fully, the expanse of Artifical Intelligence is just another mis-step in this foot race to the Sun.

Is it wrong for me to fear the future more than to embrace it? I feel as though we have taken many leaps as a society and civilization since I was a child, but nothing has jumped so far as to now being able to print my own home. The luxury of idiots may make our world for the next millennia, but who is to say that hasn't already happened? I will be happy with the Playstation 5 and the ability to print pancakes, I hope that eventually exists.
