WANNA KNOW MORE ABOUT EARTH MOVING MACHINES LIKE THE BULLDOZER? COME ALONG!!!

Good day fellow steemians I am back to blogging about my field of business. The part one of this post, i blogged about an earth moving equipment called excavator. But today I will be writing about an earth moving equipment called Bulldozer.
As the name implies, the Bulldozer also called a Dozer is a very large and powerful earth moving machine/equipment used for pushing earth, big trees, massive rocks, wrecking, clearing large forest, farming, clearing of snows, land leveling, clearing of trash, soil spreading,military operations and for construction purposes.i know you will be curious to know how this machine help in military operation well it is used by the military as a front-line vehicle. While on the front-line it performs battle field demolition,dulldozes and clears the way for other military vehicle to pass. The Dozer is also used to detonate explosives as well as create passage for foot combat troops to pass.

The Dulldozer is a very versatile and sort after machine because of it's multiple usage. There are many types of Dulldozers available, but today I will be writing about the commonly used ones we see around us everyday.

CRAWLER BULLDOZER :

This is the most accepted Dozer in Africa because it is a tracked machine. What this means is that it moves on tracks and this tracks makes the Dozer work in any kind of terrain whether rocky, mudy or Sandy. They equally come in various sizes, some crawler Dozer comes with a very large claw like massive iron installed at the rear end called ripper and this ripper can dig through/crush anything like uprooting trees or crushing big rocks. It also comes with a very wide thick heavy plate infront for pushing sand, rocks and trees. It is also used for cutting edges, which is called the Dozer blade.

WHEELED DOZER:

This kind of Dozers are not common because the work in selective terrain like plane lands, unlike the crawler Dozer, the wheeled Dozer is kind of bigger and usually comes with very large and heavy tires that enables it to move and function well. It also comes with a hydraulic steering which makes the machine very easy to operate and turn.

MINI DOZER:

These are smaller Dozers and because they are small, they move faster in speed. This type of Dozers are used for residential construction. They are also used for sloping side of roads and drive ways.

MAIN PARTS OF A BULLDOZER

Bulldozer blade: this is a very wide thick heavy plate found infront of the Dozer. It is used to push large quantity of soil, sand, big trees, rock materials during construction as well as clearing. This blade is also equipped with cutting edge from below and on the side and once they are worn out, they can be replaced.

Bulldozer ripper: This is a massive claw like metal found at the back of the Dozer. The name ripper already tells one what it does, which is to uproot or create an enormous tear in the ground by clawing itself across the ground.

Bulldozer crawler tracks: These tracks always appear in gear and are found on both sides of the Dozer. They help in the movement of the Dozer. The Dozer is a very heavy machine and so the track helps it to claim fame(balance)and move freely and not get stucked whether in mudy, sandy or rocky terrain. Tracks in Dozers are a major component in converting power. These tracks distribute the weight of the Dozer especially around the engine itself. So In a nutshell the Dozer track helps the Dozer to stay above the ground rather than sink and it also helps the Dozer convert it's engine power into pushing and pulling.

Bulldozer engine: Dozer always comes in high-powered diesel engine because they are built to do heavy duty jobs,work long hours and also move through very rough terrain. The engine is mounted infront of the bulldozers, however it is connected to the transmission. This engine comes in various sizes depending on the size and horsepower of the Dozer.

Bulldozer hydraulic pump: The hydraulic pump/motor helps the Dozer to achieve high performance needed. The hydraulic pump create forces so as to help the Dozer deal with heavy weights and duties. It is a very important part of the Dozer because it helps in lifting the blade of the Dozer and also helps the Dozer blade to slant and move vertically. It helps in the operation of the ripper at the back of the Dozer.
