Technology and the Learning Process
Today, technology can provide numerous tools to support many types of learning and instruction.
When people think, their thoughts are filled with sounds, images, colors and movements. A young child, for example, will describe a police car by indicating its color and demonstrating the sounds and movements of a police car chasing a criminal down the road. Most traditional instruction, however, uses words and pictures only, often in two-color textbooks.
Computers, digital media, and especially the Web create numerous opportunities for discovery learning. The Web can transport them to a world beyond their own - visually, audibly, and even virtually.
Digital media tools allow students to have learning experiences in which concepts are brought to life with a variety of presentations - video's, sounds, colors, pictures, simulations, and animations.
Using discovery learning, a teacher can break down classroom walls with technology, the Web, and most importantly - open doors for imagination! Technology helps teachers promote interactive participatory learning and create authentic learning experiences by allowing students to research, explore and create.
Learners will be able to understand concepts more clearly and learn no matter who or where they are.

Agreed @bdmomuae! Kids need to be stimulated in different manners/ tools available to them so we are open up their learning capabilities and reach maximum potential.
