Do you feel skype for business is the best communication tool for businesses? Why/Why not?

Skype for business is definitely a great tool for people who work in corporate companies. But I would say that it is definitely not one of the best tools that a person can use in office. First of all I see lots of flaws in this tool that makes usability difficult. Sometimes I even get irritated by the way it works. 

The major flaw that I see is that we don't have a Control+Z when we type messages. Sometimes it becomes difficult during continuous conversations. Other than that there are some great features in Skype for business that can be used. I would like to highlight the features it has and it can even look like kind of review for Skype for business. 

Meeting facilities

Skype for business provide options to make both video and audio calls with colleagues. I have checked the call quality and I'm really convinced with the call quality. The call facility can also be integrated with Outlook making it easier to organize calls. Of coure the meeting experience will definitely not be as great as webex session but it is definitely good for business discussions. Skype calls can help us use internet to make calls instead of using physical phones. In situations where a face to face meeting is not possible, skype for business can really do wonders. 

Emojis

There are many better chatting or communications tools that allow good emojis but I would say that I'm satisfied with the current emojis in Skype for business. For an official discussion I really don't see any value in having emoji more than that is already available. It is definitely good to have some more neat emojis that we can use. When I talk about Emojis, though it is not related, there are also options to change our font in Skype for business. This can really give us different chatting experience. 

Chatting experience

This is the place where I have lots of complaints. Like I mentioned above, I'm not really impressed with the current chatting facility that we have. One great thing about editor is that it provides spell check option making it easier for us to rectify our typos. I'm not really happy with the fact that there is no Control+Z option available in the editor. If I made a mistake I would like to clear it, I have to either use backspace or select the text and clear it. Formatting a text is the next head ache. Unlike other text editors if you copy paste content from a source, the source formatting is copied but you will not be able to change it back to normal formatting. 

Another thing that I hate here is the fact that there is no option to forward a message or reply to a particular message phrase like the option we have in Whatsapp and telegram. Maybe I'm used to that but the usability becomes very difficult without that. Sometimes just because we don't have that option, conversations with my client have been so difficult. There is also a limit in the number of characters that we share in the chat message. Sometimes huge texts cannot be sent through chat message. 

Screen sharing

This is one of the brilliant features of skype for business. We can easily call multiple people for a meeting and use screen sharing option to share our screen. It becomes more convenient to host a meeting where we have necessity to present something. When we  are already in a meeting, we do have options to add more people to the meeting and share our screen. There are also features where external sharing is also possible. We don't really need to have skype for business client in our system. We can also do it with a web session. There are also features available to give people control to our machine. Another interesting feature in screen sharing session is that we have option to share multiple monitors using skype for business. 

Overall I would say that it is definitely a good tool for business purpose but there is definitely lots of areas for improvement. They can add more interesting features to the application that can enhance our IM experience.
