The Cloud We've Made from the One We Were Given
Yes, the entire earth is roofed with the cloud, the sky. Every human with good visuals have had the chance of seeing the one that is above every roof man has created over his head. This is nature-given, this is a blessing that benefits every thing that ever existed.
The rain falls from there, the waters rise up there and the rain falls back from there in an endless cycle. The whole universe gets connected by the free-moving sky: the sun, the moon, the stars and the planets seem to have their home embodied by the natural cloud. In this amazing atmosphere is also found the rainbow, lightening, the sound of the storm and some living and non-living moving creatures: birds, aircraft, comet and many more. The natural cloud spreads its use among transportation, weather forecasting, and even mythology, which is narrowed down to folk tales.
As long as the human nature is concerned, inspiration can be drawn from anything, anywhere and at anytime. What the sense organs come in contact with can create a reaction that pushes the mind and brain to work which will result in a physical existence beneficial to the human race. As large as the cloud is, the limitless imagination of man knew that it can hold a whole lot. If it could hold the rain for months, sustain the planets, the sun, the moon, stars and all other Heavenly bodies from creation to present days, it means it can really hold the non-physical and weightless data we can throw to it for as long as we hung them out there.
And then in the 1960s, there came another cloud by Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider. Our cloud, the digital cloud, the unseen cloud, the treasure box of man, the timeless bank where we can save almost everything in a form without exceptions. This form of cloud has information tied to the tip of our fingers, it makes work easy and mobile for everyone, it reduces load and grants access to basically almost everything we need to know in, and about the universe. The level of confidentiality, trust and dependency spiked up as we all have everything under our control and command by just pushing buttons or placing a skin on them.
As one of the higher forms of disruption so far, this invention saves us funds, space, time, energy. Now we can only pay for storage space (that's if we need that much), the capital expenses is being wiped out and we only make exchange for operating expense. There's no panic about sluggish device function as a result of overload and there's no fear of losing files, there's that advantage of instant import and export of document, keeping track record of our social life, and answers to inquiries even when we can't speak (serving our medics).
Hackers with criminal intent make this disruption risky because information hung in the air are up for grab by anyone who can find a key to the safe. The foresight on this actions led to the execution of ‘Information Security’ which stands as a defense army to cloud storage. The awareness of Information Security is a vital task for every organization that is IT-related. Data safeguarding is as essential as human health protection because the strength of an organization in today's world is information-based. With a slip of information, you can either strengthen or break a firm.
Here's also an aspect where information gain power apart from imparting knowledge. The Cloud Drive is a merit and at the same time a demerit to all users depending on the input released into its operation. The fact remains that it is inevitable as well as the task of securing it. As much as we're using it, we should put a strong fence round and about it.
