Qwerty vs Dvorak
I've often heard Dvorak is better than Qwerty and I'm still wondering exactly why that is. And if the difference is worth the hassle of learning a new keyboard layout over.
Is Dvorak like the Metric system of keyboards? A better system that people are just too stubborn to switch to? Or is it a marginally better layout that people with too much time on their hands use?

Since I write with all 10 fingers I don't think I'd be able to switch.
Though with the amount with the amount of writing I do it would probably be worth it in the long term - but I would feel completely useless before I got back to the point where I can write like now again.
Maybe a good idea would be to start practicing using Dvorak during your vacation or when fast typing isn't critical for productivity. I'm planning to experiment with the layout during my summer holidays.
I have switched to the Dvorak layout several years ago. I switched to it based on the idea that it is probably better because it was actually designed to be better and not designed to be worse, like the Qwerty was.
My overall experience is: I have no clue if I type "better" with it or not, I have not adapted to it entirely naturally still and I would be slightly more "happy", I expect, if I was using Qwerty.
I guess it's like a native language. You were born into one language, so all the other languages that you will learn throughout your life won't feel... "natural". You started using computers with Qwerty, so now anything else doesn't seem like it is the "correct way".
