FreeCAD: Free and open Source CAD Software for Mechanical Engineer
As an Mechanical CAD Engineer, In My Sector there are not that much development as free open source CAD software as compare to Software industry. In Software sector many free software perform like paid software for example GIMP which is an open source Graphics Manipulation Software works in same way Adobe Photoshop does. Development is quite bit slow in the Mechanical sector for Open Source Software. In this post I will talk about FreeCAD software which is free and open source software for mechanical CAD engineer.

FreeCAD is still in development stage not that much advance like professional CAD software like CATIA and Solid works but it fulfill all basic need of mechanical cad engineer. FreeCAD supports all open free file format like IGES, STEP etc to open and preview the 3D model. If you are in a situation when you have to review the design and you are not in office that time you can install FreeCAD software and review the design. FreeCAD software is very useful for students to learn the basic of CAD.
