We are already seeing many problems with third companies and big data but it's a global scale problem, in terms of personal freedom it's something very confusing, even more if it is mixed with economic or movement freedom (E.g. the right to drink, smoke and urinate or spit in public, for those who like it, they would have more relative freedom in China).
I believe the current aberrations can be exceeded in certain places since geopolitics allows it but we should not let it happen or at least make it difficult.
