WHAT IS A WEBSITE?

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

A website is a collection of hypertext documents, but not just any documents; anybody can write a document and call it a webpage.

In the early days of the Internet hypertext documents were created in order to share researcher's work; since then it evolved to what we know as WebPages on the Internet.

responsive-web-design.jpgA website usually contains a collection of documents describing or providing information about specific work, product or service. Some websites may have very important information created by the author to deliver a specific message.
Websites are successful when the content is delivered to the target audience. Unfortunately 80% of websites fail to deliver the message; in other words, when a website is not found in search results it simply means it has failed its purpose.

SUCCESSFUL WEBSITES NEEDS METADATA

like I said, your website is useless and has failed its purpose if no one can find it. Successful websites must follow the standards, which means it should have metadata.
Metadata: Metadata is snippets of specific information required to identify a page and its content, this information is passed to Google, Yahoo, Bing. Metadata is what makes the page important and relevant. Without metadata the web page is useless.

In my next articles I will explain the importance of meta-data and how to use them. I highly recommed hiring an expert to help you build and optimize your website if you want to be successful.

Let me know on your comments what would you like to know about building a website or about SEO Services.
