Although it has switched to the Android operating system
Although it has switched to the Android operating system, the BlackBerry remains faithful to the keyboard that became his trademark so far. A number of QWERTY Android smartphones have been released. The latest, coded name "Athena" is expected to be coming soon.
Leaked photos and specifications of the BlackBerry Athena recently appeared and circulated through the electronic certification authority site in China (TENAA) with the model number BBF100-4, made by TCL Mobile, which is a partner of BlackBerry manufacturing.
From the photo it appears that the BlackBerry Athena has a design similar to BlackBerry KeyOne, with a QWERTY physical keyboard that is placed just below the 4.5-inch touch screen (1620 x 1,080 pixels, aspect ratio 3: 2).
The keyboard has no chrome colored frets like KeyOne. The buttons are now whitewash painted black matte, instead of glossy more shiny. This keyboard also allegedly supports touch gesture and shortcut customization ala KeyOne.
On the back of the BlackBerry Athena perched a dual camera module. One of them has a 12 megapixel resolution, others not yet known clearly. The front camera 8 megapixel resolution.
