Lake Grimsel, an artificial lake built for the purpose of generating electrical power from water in 1932. This stored water can be converted into electrical energy at any time with the aid of massive Turbines. This Turbines converting hydro power into electricity runs all year round on higher trenches.

For maintenance purposes, the turbines are in pairs because one has to stop and the other to continue running to keep the generation constant at a certain generation output say: 3000 Mega Watts.

The Swiss power grid is relentlessly and with precision regulated by this state-of-the-art power plants.

Aside from been a Power generating station/Dam, this is an exciting toursim centre combining Hydro-Power, Waterfalls, Reservoirs, Hotels and Tourist centers; it is the perfect place for a vaction.
