Technological Unemployment: Myth or Reality?
For decades, the specter of "technological unemployment"—the idea that machines will permanently displace human labor—has haunted the workforce. From the Luddites of the 19th century to today’s anxiety over generative AI, the fear remains constant: will technology eventually render human skills obsolete?
To determine if this is a myth or an impending reality, we must look at the historical trajectory of innovation. Every major technological leap, from the steam engine to the internet, triggered initial panic. Critics argued that these advancements would lead to mass joblessness.
