70 wooden structures!
A Japanese company is planning to build the tallest building in the world with wood. In the year 2041, the company named Suitomo Forestri has planned to build the building on the occasion of 350th anniversary of Japan.
The W 350 will be a 70-storey building. According to the company, 10 percent of the structure will be used in the steel and the rest of the area, approximately 1.80 lakh cubic meters of local wood. There are about 8,000 houses in the building and trees and shrubs on the verandah of each floor.
Tokyo is frequent earthquake. And in the face of this natural disaster, there will be a 350 meter wooden and steel pillar in the center of the building. A diagonal steel vibration-control will be connected with it.
It is estimated that around 6,000 billion yen ($ 5 billion) of the Japanese currencies will be used to implement the project. But the construction of a skyscraper in the same way costs twice as much to spend. However, due to technological excellence, the construction cost of this building will decrease in 2041 before the construction cost is expected to reduce further, Sumitomo said.
In fact, there is a wooden skyscraper in various places in the world. There is an 18-storey wooden office building in Minneapolis in the state of Minnesota, USA. In Canada, there is a building made of 53-meter high wood in Vancouver, which is now recognized as the world's tallest wooden structure.
