Elon Musk creates the world's largest battery

Lithium-ion batteries empower your phone, laptop, and your camera. But the news is now that Elon Musk will supply South Australia with energy.

Tesla CEO revealed on Thursday that his company has just fulfilled its promise to build and install the world's largest lithium battery within 100 days.

In a Twitter bidding, Musk said that if his company failed to meet the deadline to build the Powerpack system, he would undergo an approximate $ 50 million bill and the South Australian government could had it free of charge. Tesla crossed the line for about a week to save.

Designed to maintain renewable energy, Tesla's battery has a capacity of 100 megawatts. After thorough testing, the system will be paired with the Hornsdale wind farm 120 miles north of Adelaide, operated by the French renewable energy provider Neoen. Mega-battery will maintain excessive energy generated by wind turbines and be used as and when required.
