Apple AirPods 1 Year In

Apple AirPods have been one of my favorite wireless audio device on the market.

They are slim, easy to use, and fit nicely in your ear. This is subjective, mainly due to the fact that AirPods have the same shape as EarPods also made by Apple.

They sound nice with a light base presence. Vocals are clear and defined, instruments are well separated from the vocals and is overall a pleasant listening experience.

They charge via a charging case which adds a extra 24 hours of listening time to the already good 5 hours. They pair to IOS 11 devices using the W1 chipset which allows for easy paring between all of your Apple devices.

Android pairing is just as easy, you press the button at the back of the case and it begins to search for a device to connect to.

Now for the bad stuff.

AirPods are not good for physical sports, if you are into this I would recommend the Jaybird X3 or Freedom 2.
They fall out of your ear when running, although you can purchase winglets for the earbuds to make them stick in it is just another hassle.

As well they will not fit in everyones ears perfectly, as for me there are certain days when they stay in like they are being held in like glue and other days they fall out very easily.

Overall AirPods are quite good and I would recommend them to anyone who is deep into the apple ecosystem, there have been rumours floating around that a second generation of AirPods will be released in the coming months. So maybe wait around for those. They are also good for doing schoolwork and the light walk as they allow sound around you enter in, this allows for you to have full awareness when out for a walk.

I would give AirPods a solid 7/10
