How to Prevent Mobile Phones From Being Tracked
Location tracking technology refers to technologies that physically locate and electrically record and track moment of people or other objects such as electronic devises.Location technology in cell phones could be helpful when looking for the nearest petrol filling station, shopping mall,shops,hotel and etc.It can also enable others to retrieve information about your whereabouts, legally or illegally.
Basically location tracking involves in three ways such as,
1.In first method location tracking involves the use of wireless signals to point out your position between cell towers.
2.In second method uses the GPS radio on your phone to pinpoint your location.
3.The third method uses the Wi-Fi hot spot to which you’re connected to approximate your current position. If you suspect you’re being tracked using your Mobile phone disabling these features can help prevent tracking.
1.Turn off the cellular network and Wi-Fi radios on your Mobile phone.
To prevent yourself being tracked you first turn off your cellular network and wifi radio.In easy way to turn of this feature you enalble the Aeroplne mode in phones,this feature turn off both the wifi radios and cellular network in your mobile phones.These feature help us from being tracked.
2.Disable your GPS radio.
GPS stands for Global positioning System.This System provide your's global standing positions to the system.So this system help to track our moments in easiast way.so turn off the GPS feature in your Mobile phone from being tracked.Some mobile phone have this feature in stand alone settings.Some devices having this feature in setting menus like Privacy and Location sharing settings.In some mobile phone models turn on the Airplane mode automatically disable the GPS feature.Turning off all location based feature will help us from being tracked.
- Apple’s iPhone:
If Apple iPhone user want to disable location services, then go to the settings tab and then choose Privacy then there select Location services.Here you will see the ist of apps use location services.Disable them all by moving the slider at the top, or disable location services only for specific apps. - Android Mobile Phones:
If Android user wants to disable location services,then go to Settings, select Location, and then enter Google Location Settings. Here, you can turn off Location Reporting and Location History. Location Reporting feeds your location data to various apps, while Location History stores your whereabouts for future use in searches and software like Google Now.important to remember that lots of popular apps like Google Maps, Foursquare and more are pretty dependent on having access to your location data to work to the best of their ability — turning off location services means losing some of your smartphone’s capabilities. But that just might be worth it if you’re ultra-concerned about your privacy.
5.Shut Down the Mobile:
Simple and easiest way to prevent yourself from tracking,shut down the mobile phone completely and removethe battery.This is the easiest way to ensure that you can’t be tracked via your cell phone, but it comes at the price of not being able to use your phone at all. If you need access to any data on your phone, back it up to a PC before you power down your device.
6.Prevent Phones from being tracked on google:
You have to be very cautious before using any app on your phone or giving out any sensitive details about yourself to any manufacturer. Follow the followings from being tracked,
Location:
If you are an android user then you noticed that you want to install mobile software in your mobile then the software wants to access your location. Many people rather press yes to this prompt than hit no because they want to get to the app screen faster than to wait a lot. But there would be some app that would require your precise location to deliver your food and other services. But there are a lot of apps that don’t need the location service, but they would ask you to leave the option on.
Disable Location Sharing:
As I have said earlier, there are plenty of apps that use location service. While there are some of them that need services like location and WiFi but here are some that don’t need any of them, you will even see that will have a verified logo on, even they will want you to give them the proper location to function properly. Many people don’t see these options as harmful to their phone., as they will be busy pressing ‘allow‘ to get to the main screen of the phone. By giving an app the right to handle your location or camera, it can be very harmful to the phone’s storage and your information stored inside all of your profile.
