Anti-trust lawsuits hide a more sinister agenda.

The biggest U.S. tech firms are worth $7.8 trillion to global investors while Europe's mini-techs command a pathetic market cap of $717 billion. No wonder European politicians love to deploy anti-competitive "antitrust" lawsuits to collect fat fines (thinly-veiled discriminatory taxes) from the deep pockets of U.S. technology companies.

What is far more surprising is that President Biden and U.S. politicians from both parties (e.g., Senators Amy Klobuchar and Josh Hawley) seem even more enthusiastic and opportunistic about threatening to make-up antitrust rules on the fly, using endless costly litigation as a wrecking ball against several of this nation's most important businesses.

Whenever you hear those in the White House or Congress promise to "restrain" Big Tech, understand that it is not possible to restrain the growth of leading American businesses without also restraining the growth of the U.S. economy.
