Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra Quick Review!
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra was announced earlier this month in India, along with the Galaxy S23 and S23+. The S23 Ultra is Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, featuring a number of upgrades over its predecessor. We have the device with us today and here is our first impressions along with an unboxing.
The S23 Ultra has a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ Infinity-O-Edge Dynamic AMOLED display with a centre punch hole cut-out. It can reach a peak brightness of 1750 nits, and it can switch its refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. The touch sampling rate is 240Hz and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The front camera is different this time around, which now houses a 12MP sensor at an aperture of f/2.2. The earpiece grill can be found above the front camera, and it doubles as a secondary speaker. Bezels are minimal on all four sides, although the bottom bezel is noticeably thicker than the others.
The S23 Ultra is powered by a custom designed Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that features a higher clock speeds. Samsung has paired the chipset with their most advanced cooling system for a smartphone till date, featuring a vapour chamber that is twice as big as the S22 Ultra. Regarding software updates, Samsung promises 4 OS upgrade and 5 years of security updates for the S23 Ultra.
The button placement and ports are in identical positions when compared to the S22 Ultra. On the right edge there is the power button and volume rocker. The left edge is bare, and the top edge has a microphone hole. The bottom edge has the USB Type-C port, speaker grill, a microphone hole and SIM tray. The main external difference between the S23 Ultra and its predecessor is that the sides are flatter on the S23 Ultra. This improves the ergonomics in the hand and makes it easier to hold.

For the battery, the S23 Ultra comes with a 5000mAh cell, which is unchanged from its predecessor. The maximum charging speed has also remained the same at 45W, and it continues to support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes in 3 colours in India, which include Green, Phantom Black and Cream. Samsung is also selling 4 extra colours exclusive to their online store – Graphite, Sky Blue, Lime and Red.
