#6_What is USB? (USB cable, USB port, USB device, types of USB) in details !

in #tech6 years ago

You may know all about USB, but do you know what is USB? How many types are there? And how to use it? If you too have all this doubt, then according to me, you should read this post completely. The full form of USB is Universal Serial Bus, which has a plug-and-play interface and with this help helps to communicate with other devices and peripherals.

WHAT IS USB?
A USB port is a very standard cable connection which provides an interface between personal computers and consumer electronics devices. The full form of USB is Universal Serial Bus, which is an industry standard for short-distance digital data communications. USB ports allow USB devices to connect with each other so they can easily transfer digital data through USB cable. With this, electric power can also be supplied between devices.
Both the wired and wireless versions are located in the USB standard but only the wired version has USB ports and cables. Universal Serial Bus (version 1.0) was first commercially released in the month of January 1996. This industry standard was soon adopted by other major companies such as Intel, Compaq, Microsoft etc.

WHERE DO THE USB PORT DEVICES FIX?
Often, there are at least one USB port in all modern computers, I have told about some such typical locations here where you can locate these USB ports in a computer.

Desktop computer
In a desktop computer, there are often two to four ports on the front and two to eight ports.
Laptop computer
In one laptop computer, there are one to four ports in its sides.
Tablet computer
If a tablet has a USB port, it is often the same charging port.
Smartphone
There are very few smartphones in the USB port, but many people use the USB port to charge their phones.

WHAT IS USB DEVICE?
Today, we use different USB devices in the number of millions, which we can use by connecting with our computer. These USB devices are called those that use USB technology to do their operations smoothly. Here I am going to write about some similar USB devices that we use in our everyday life.

Digital Camera
Webcams
External drive
Joystick
iPod or other MP3 player
Scanner
Jump Drive a Thumb drive
Keypad
Printer
Microphone
Keyboard
Mouse
Smartphone
Tablet

These USB interfaces were first developed in the mid 1990s and standardized by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF). According to these standards there are two main types of connectors that are A-type and B-type. These USB connectors have been deliberately designed to connect properly. It is impossible to connect them incorrectly in one way. Therefore, for the ease of the users, the USB icon is imprinted on the upper side of the plug, which can visually be seen by anyone. With this USB standard already specifies which type of connector will fit on the extension cable.

Now there are many versions of USB Connectors that differ according to their own DTRs, for example, the USB 1.0 whose DTR is 1.5 Mbps and 12 Mbps, USB 2.0 with DTR, 480 Mbps, and USB 3.0, or SuperSpeed, which has a DTR of 5 Gbps.

Many interfaces, such as serial and parallel ports, for individual power chargers, portable devices, use the USB interface. USB connectors are now being used in such devices as network adapters and portable media players, like video game consoles and in smartphones.

TYPES OF USB CABLE
These doubts can come to the mind of many of you that if USB is universal then why are there so many types of it? This is a very good question but the answer is equally attractive as it is that all USB cables have different functions, mainly due to the newer devices they have better specs to be compatible with new USB cable Is made. Here I have mentioned something similar USB cable.

Type-A: A type-A connector is often used at one end, in most cables, often a type-A connector is found in all peripherals (such as keyboards and mice), found in many personal computers, typically multiple type-A ports , And many other devices and power adapters use type-A port for data transfers and charging.

Type-B: This is almost like a square connector in appearance, its use is primarily for printers and other powered devices which are connected to the computer. It is brought in very little use compared to Type-A.

Mini-USB: This was a standard connector type for mobile devices when there was no micro-USB type. As its name suggests, mini-USB is very small compared to regular USB, and they are still being used in some cameras where non-standard connectors can still be used. Used to be.

Micro-USB: This is the standard USB Cable used for mobile and other portable devices. It is being used by all Manufactures but just except Apple.

Type-C: This is a reversible cable so that higher transfer rates and more power can be found compared to previous USB types. Due to its best features, it is being used in almost all standard laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones.
