If you follow UK technology news, you may have come across the Tech London Advocates (TLA) – an unrivalled collection of tech leaders, experts and investors ‘uniting to form the most influential group in tech’.

TLA was founded in 2013 by Russ Shaw (previously Vice President & General Manager at Skype and Chairman of the Marketing Group of Great Britain).

I was introduced to the TLA in 2015, when a steering group was being formed to better link tech hubs across Africa to tech hubs in London.

The concept developed and we formally launched TLA Africa in 2016 with support from UK-based networks including ATBN and Apps Africa.

Since then, we’ve been gradually growing a network of individuals and organisations who we’re excited to engage with much more in 2018.

TLA Africa aims to build a network interested and active in the tech ecosystem in London and its counterparts in key African markets, working together to develop stronger links and cooperation between the two regions.

It’s been very encouraging to see the rise of interest in Africa’s technology scene, however it’s important to build relationships on the continent, and participate in developing the ecosystem on the ground. And that’s what we hope to bring to TLA Africa.

I’ve met and spoken with Russ on a number of occasions and I admire his ability to collate such a large cohort of tech leaders, experts and investors all willing to collaborate in the name of better connecting and growing the global tech ecosystem.

It’s well needed, and I’m very much looking forward to making fruitful partnerships and bringing value to this rapidly growing community.

Wow!.. Thank you so much for availing this big opportunity to Africa and Africans. I've always believed that the solution to Africa's economic problems lies not in any renowned economist or a financial wizard. It lies solely in the development of technology. And every philanthropic gesture should border on areas of science and technology. We have too many awesomeness to give. Thanks for sharing.

I am in for that..Africa needs more of such great innovations especially Ghana..Its so good to see the recognition that cryptocurrency is gaining in the country..No wonder politicians urging tge central bank to invest Ghanas resources in cryptos..thanks for this @ak2020
