A joke about fat people was made and it got me upset, like really upset.

The joke goes

we are all pencils in the hand of the creator except fat people, they are markers in the hand of the creator.

My God, I was hurt. Like seriously hurt.
To make matters worse, because it happened on a church group, the only suggestion was that we pray for Nigeria

Statistics have it that depression, anorexia and suicide have increased in recent years due to body shaming. Everyone seems to have become vicious. Everyone. Bothered only by your own issues in life, forgetting someone has it tougher.

Being a microbiologist and an active member of the church, I've read and seen these cases in real life.

When I pointed out the statistics, one person on the group even goes like Oh yeah, only in American movies 😂😂😂.
Honestly, I wish that were true.

What role are you playing in healing your society?
Why should there be a disparity between sizes?
Isn't it enough that the battle for gender inequality is still on in certain facets of our economy?
Must you judge me based on my size, colour or background?

Interesting, not just fat people are body shamed. I have been over and over (made me tough), statements like oh, you don't look old enough to be here, being bullied even by younger yolks all because I look small. I have it easy. How about these big people? How do they feel?

Here's a conversation I had with a friend about the incident, he said,

That's not a joke if you don't find it funny.
Whoever it is - is making mokery of God not "fat people".
So we'll leave that for God to respond.
Do you know that there are some sins which are forgiven but the punishment is still sure to come?

It's the mentality.
I love and believe so much in words.
I believe that words have effects.
If a person confesses bad words to a situation, he is likely to get the most bad experience out of it.
That is why I wrote an article about the mind and its environment.
Correction at that moment will be temporary. Soon afterwards, whatever fed that thoughts will begin to pour in the same belief

You see, death is what gives life meaning.
What we hear, we say, we become.
People follow this concept.
You have the might to be thin but still look fat.
No one is ugly.

Then he said,

It's written "and he created us in his image"
No matter how fat a person is, he should not be brainwashed that he cannot make a great person.
Do you know that if the mentality was "fat is good, thin is bad".
Do you not know that many would want to be fat?
The mentality killed him not the depression.

He goes further to say,

How people appear cannot determine what they represent.
But if you are fine enough with words you can tell.

Out of the abundance of the.... the mouth spe...
If a person talks on a group, I could describe to some extent the person.

This part really got to me

Mind bully minds.
David already defeated Golaith before he came out from the King's presence.
If he was going to fight, why wouldn't he go with the body helment given to him.

The mind is where everything lies.
