BATTALION 1944 Review - first impressions
Hello, everyone! Today me and @ladyrednails bought this cool game that just came out and i have to say, it is really nice.
If you liked Call of Duty 1 and 2, you will like this game. It is similar to CS GO. 5v5 rounds, swapping the teams at the half and many more.
The choice of weapons is a bit limited in game. You may customize what kind of weapons you want to use for the different categories from the inventory in main menu though.
At the beginning of every round you can choose among 6 categories
In Battalion 1944, you do not have a health bar like in Counter Strike. If you get shot and you are just wounded, the edges of the screen will get a bit red and you just need to take cover for a few seconds. After that, you are as good as new.
New weapons are obtained by opening "War Chests"
Conclusion - It is a very nice game and as soon as it will get a bit more polished, i think many people will start playing it. Let's just say it is not in the best shape at the moment. It might take a while to find a match and some people disconnect in the middle of the game... Connection times out sometimes.
In case you decide to buy the game and have difficulties running it on your pc, feel free to leave a reply here and i will do my best to help you figure it out.
One of the most common problems is a pink screen, as soon as you start from the main menu. You can easily fix that by either: Going to the video settings and switching from full screen to "Borderless" or pressing Alt + Enter.
Pressing Alt + Enter will probably help also if you have a black screen and cannot see anything, when starting the game.

That is awesome that you guys have a hobby together that you enjoy doing together. I suck at shooting games. My husband played Call of Duty once with me and kept telling me how great I was doing. Then at the end when it showed our points at the end, his were wayyyyyy up there, and mine came to like 14 lol. It was so funny. I was like, hey, you lied to me.
thanks :D Well, it was the same with us in the beginning, with cs go. Its normal to suck at it in the beginning but in a few hours you get much better and you are going to start going up the frag ladder :D
I think it is the way my brain works though. I don't know if I have issues separating things in my brain (processing it). Something about having to move one joystick to move, the other to focus in on stuff, then press trigger buttons for another function, then remember what A, B, X and Y do is just too much for my brain to do lol. It is amazing at what we lack. I finished my Master's program with a 4.0 GPA, but I can't operate an XBOX controller for certain games. I think that is why I like RPG's when I actually do play.
Oh no no no, we play on PC. I can only imagine it would be a terrible experience to play something like cs go with the joypad. Its easier with the mouse and keyboard :D. You could give mobas a try. Dont know if you ever played Dota2
I've never heard of either game. My husband played the buttons on my laptop so hard that they are falling off. I inherited his laptop when he upgraded. I don't have a down arrow right now lol.
Haha, I know the feeling. I also had a laptop that I used for gaming once until the shift key broke and most of the letters that were written on the keys disappeared. You should get a keyboard for it
I think after I pay a bill off, I might just get a new laptop eventually.
That will do as well. If you are getting it for gaming though, a desktop pc is way cheaper.
