Magoebaskloof Limpopo

Cold, wet, still 10kms from your destination. You're on foot and carrying a backpack filled with goodies you need to survive.....and about 15kgs of useless tinned food and ladies stuff from your girlfriend 'just in case', that got too heavy for her to carry! And this was too much on day 1 of a 5 day hike!

Something amazing had to happen to make this work, to make it worthwhile.....and it did, nature happened!
Oh my word, the rain created a mysterious feel about everything, and even though it was Slippery and chilly, it was completely surpassed by the beauty of nature....I was in awe! I was speechless! I was close to God.

So to try give an indication of the beauty, all the belie pics were taken with a small cellphone, so it does no justice to the actual beauty....but I hope you enjoy nonetheless.

Also if you're a hiker, do yourself a favour and do this hike....its one of the most incredible hikes around.

The details on the 5 day hike are as follows:
Starting at Dokolewa Pools to Seepsteen Stables(9Km), Seepsteen Stables to Waterfall(13.8Km), Waterfall to Dokolewa Pools (18Km), Dokolewa Pools to Woodbush(9Km), Woodbush to De Hoek(11.7Km).

Some of those legs were tough (I think the weather didn't help).

Honestly, it's a tough hike, with some great scenery and natural landscapes.
Any nature lover will fall in love.

Cheers.

I don't even know how it happened.....i posted my new story and voila there was this post again

I am just surprised that it did not get picked up by one of those bots, lol

Mysterious under cloud what a nice hike, thanks for sharing @towjam the photo's as you said most probably don't do it any justice, they are good enough to get a feel of the area.

Hi Joan, thank you. Somehow this was posted again while writing my new post. Strange.

Wow, that is so brave of you guys to hike in that mist, I would get lost probably lol.

I would like to visit Limpopo on a sunny time.

Greetings from Cape Town :)

Hey it was beautiful with a capital B! We stay in the Western Cape ourselves. You would love that hike!

Wow! That really is otherworldly! Maybe when my boys are older we will take them :) I had no idea Limpopo could be so lush!

You will love the hike! Although it was a tough hike so you need some tough kids to complete it

Lol! Oh dear I better start training them :D

LOL! Bootcamp!

Oh wow. Sounds amazing and those pics, even though it's been taken with a cell, look spectacular!

Thank you! That one pic looking up to the tree canopy blew my mind away that it was taken on an old Nokia cellphone. Although the real view through my eyes made me emotional with the beauty....it was amazing
