Stand up Africa. Stand up Nigeria. I am black and I'm proud of it.

Someone once said that until the day the lion learn how to write, the story of the hunter will always be true. And this is also true for Africa. Until the day we learn to write our own story, the people outside we think they know it all.

This post is in response to the post made by @therneau, "What does it mean to be proudly African? " and I have a whole lot to say because I'm black and I'm proud of it.

*Africa my home; the home of culture. Africa is where you get nature at its best. The beauty in Africa is pure and undiluted. Africa is where cultures are of different types and all together make an awesome combination. Africa is the home to many great talents. *

What does it mean to be proudly African?

This means a lot to different people. One may say he's proudly African because of the richness of our culture. Another may say he's proudly African because of another reason. And I will also say I'm proudly African because of the following reason.

We don't survive anywhere we find ourselves, we thrive!

Place a fish and a frog in water and you won't know the difference. But place a fish and a frog on land and see how long they can last. Africans are group of people that have learn to survive no matter how hard the situation is. And we do not only survive, we thrive! We have learnt to adapt anywhere and also make the best out of it.

Mama Africa is industrious

We are proud of our African mothers. They are not ordinarily; they are angels. Wonderful souls that live their life to see the best out of their children. I don't know the number of times my mother had to go without food or other things she wants just to see us have the best. Mama Africa is industrious. She doesn't waste anything. She utilize what you may call waste and make beauty out of it.

Africans don't carry last

We are so proud of our children both home and abroad because they make us proud. From sports to science, education, economics, fashion, politics, just name it, you will always see the Africans there making us proud. We are blessed that whatever we touch is also touched with blessings.

Miss Africa is beautiful

They have the Peruvian and Brazilian hair but you can't resist the beautiful black African girl with her braided "suku". That is the beauty in the purest form. Glowing skin with a beautiful face to complement it. I am proudly African because our girls are beautiful.

If you've never tasted our Nigerian jollof rice then you can't know how much you're missing. You can't make it better trust me. The secrete ingredient lies in the kitchen of our mothers.

pass the calabash and let's drink some palm wine.

I'm proud of Africans, we don't need the exotic wines because we brew the purest wine from nature. Have you ever tasted our palmwine? Oh, it's pure and the best.
