Steemit vs Snapchat
This past weekend I attended my sons house school athletics day. He is only in Grade R (5 years old) so the highlight for him was the Sack / Egg and Spoon race. Back in my day these were 2 separate events…but let me not get started on differences between then and now; I am beginning to sound old!
Each of the houses competing in the sporting events had to have a theme for the day. Strange as it sounds, the kids in my son’s house chose Snapchat as a theme. Being a parent and fairly “in touch” I do know a bit about Snapchat, how kids are so obsessed with it and also about the problems that this obsession brings with it.
You see, Snapchat was by design meant to leave no permanent record of messages sent between people chatting. The messages (or snaps) delete themselves shortly after being read.
The CEO of Snapchat sees the app as:
the solution to stresses caused by the longevity of personal information on social media
What does this say about our society?
Interestingly enough, on the other hand we have Steemit which; being based on a blockchain; creates a permanent record of anything posted. Surely this approach leads to people being more accountable for things that they do and say?
What are your thoughts about this contradictory trend?

Teenagers I read somewhere were tired of parents "chipping into conversations" they hunt high and low for privacy and have their chats auto deleted, might be an old wives tale @gholsa
On the other hand who can blame them, it is like listening into someones conversation on a phone, children learn to use data quicker than we did....
I guess this makes sense. With my kids being younger I have not had to deal with this yet.
