AFRICA MY PRIDE

Home sweet home, there is no place like home, there is no place like Nigeria, there is no place like Africa.
Numerous reasons why am proud to be an African, but let me write out few of those things that makes me feel proud to be an African:

Africa is the continent where you see many mountains and wide seas, when you hear good music, when the sun shines brightly on you, when you meet black individuals living with unity in their diversity, then, you're in Africa.

My Africa, one out of seven continents is located east of the Atlantic Ocean, west of the Indian Ocean, south of Europe and North of Antarctica. Interesting right? Yes, but not as interesting as being there.

With over 50 countries, Africa remains unique and refuses to stay down.
Depends on your vision though, but here in Africa, opportunities are available to as many as those who would be diligent and hardworking, as Africa does not encourage indolence.
Some look at Africa and refer to it as the dark continent..... I always find this funny, because in Africa, the sun shines brighter than it does in any other continent, hence, I call Africa "Lumina".

A dwelling of Ordinary people with zeal and skill to do extraordinary things. Indeed, I am proud to be an African.

Egypt -an African country, held Israelites captive for years and Israel is an Asia country, You might want to consider that before viewing Africans as slaves of civilization.

Shall I compare her cultures of Music, Food, language, dance and Arts?, there is no doubt we are the best in all this areas.

Shall I speak of the natural beauty of Africans?. Of recent I read an article which is trending online about a Sudanese fashion model Nyakim that was asked by an Uber cab driver if she would change her skin colour for money. “No!” was the answer she gave, despite the whooping sum of money she was tempted with, she remained loyal to her complexion and she made it known that she is proud to be an African. We are not slaves to money, we can't be oppressed by anyone.

During the second World War, the whites got so scared of Africans after seeing the strength in us, most of the whites field in battle, but just a few Africans died. We are agile, we are strong, we ate faithful. Forget not the world record of marathon race which Kenya holds, forget not Bash-Ali and Mohammed Ali, world known boxers who are from Africa, let us also put in mind footballers like Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwakwo, Yaya Toure, Michael Essien and the likes who have contributed to the quality and good standard of football in the world.

I am not in any way saying its a challenge-free continent, No! But here, we get up when we fall. You'll be surprised at the level of adaptation of Africans. Little wonder Rwanda still exists in spite of the hardships.
Nigeria, another African country stands tall against all odds.
Blesses with many natural resources, Africa engages in one foreign trade or the other, thereby, supporting weaker continents- I remain proud of you dear Africa.

Africans are scattered throughout the world, where their skills (Skills acquired here in Africa) are being used to develop other continents. We have them in the sporting field, in Security, in Politics, in Agriculture and so on.

Can America deny not having Africans among its leading Scientists and Engineers?, just some months ago I read about a Nigerian who is the leader of C. I. A. (Central Intelligence Agency) in the United States. Little wonder they can boast of being developed.

Can India swear to have attained its current status in medicine without engaging good brains of/from Africa? We are the brain behind improvement in the field of medicine..... I feel very satisfied being an African.

A Kenyan -Barrack Obama recently ruled America and consequently, the world. Noble men whose impacts shook the cosmos, who died for what is right, whose words brings forth leaders, the likes of Sir Nnamdi Azikwe, Prof. Babatunde Fafunwa, Nelson Mandela, Ivan Ikoku, to mention a few are all Africans.

Africa- the continent of giants

Africa - The home of all

Africa - My pride.
