The public sector position in Slovenia

in #teamslovenian7 years ago (edited)

Today the strike of the public sector trade unions took place in Ljubljana.
Most of you will say: pfff these officials and most others have already enough high salaries, just whining and they do not work at all.
I definitely agree, if I look at the situation like most people: throw everyone into the same basket!
But that's not fair.
This sector includes healthcare, school, police, military, cultural workers and, of course, even support services of National Assembly, the public administration, which throws a bad light on the whole sector.

What is actually happening in Slovenia:

A few years ago, due to a financial crisis, the state took over the whole sector:
8% of salary, abolished allowances, reduced food allowance and transport to a minimum, etc.
The arrangement with regard to the promise was that when the national GDP rises to 2% growth, 2 years for the surface, we are reimbursed back.

And what happened in our beloved country? Nothing! Despite 4% last year's annual growth, they still insist on taking away. For doctors, directors and school directors honestly raised wages for all others they have no money.
YEAA , OF COURSE!

I know that there are still many people who are convinced that we have more than enough. Let me try to introduce you my personal opinion and my own experience from the real life.

I work in a hospital with cancer patients, more precisely in teleradiotherapy - domestic irradiation. I will not now press on morally or complain that the service is difficult. No, on the contrary, I go with joy to work every day.
But, Unfortunately, I'm just a human who has a family, worries, problems, obligations, ...
I always find time for every patient, try hard to put smile on their faces,... despite the order of our hospital director that we have to work overtime to get more money for the hospital , those things our patients never felt. And that is right. It has to be like that!

But somewhere we have to draw a line too.

All we want is to return it back to the professions to be evaluated equally and most importantly to adopt norms. Working with people is not a conveyor belt and do NOT MUST be!

In order to show our dissatisfaction we gathered in front of the government building for 2 hours and then quietly left.

Sort:

classic. I don't even watch these street gatherings as there's no result whatsoever

the government responded: we will start negotiating loll

:D yeah...under the table maybe
