RE: DOES EVERYTHING ALWAYS TURN TO SHIT IN THE END?

in #teamnz6 years ago

It is getting hard to watch some of my favorites go away, and some of the always optimistic ... especially those of us who have been around since the early days get so frustrated.

Recently losing nonameslefttouse and several others. I'm watching a lot of the best group... fade away.

Yet, even well connected I have no idea what to do about it or who to appeal to.

Hang in there one pump and this turns around.

You realise you are my go to person for brilliant solutions?

Hmmm, are you scared to touch the topics that really matter?

This was a honest post from @frot it's not about the price of steem. Its about the toxicity of the platform. And what do you mean with "hang in there one pump and this turns around"? You mean, there is always a greater fool?

There were enough examples in the post, to come to the conclusion that some "totally fucked up useless lying wankers who are trying to do every scam in the book" destroyed the social media use case for all of us.

If you read the post and read between the lines, we all know to whom and what kind of behavior the finger is pointed. Of course spam is an issue, nothing new here, but the so called self appointed spam hunters are an issue too. We get both for free, and we can do nothing to stop them.

A price pump will not change these facts. The potential of the steem blockchain will also not change these facts.

A mantra like "everyone can do with his stake like he wishes" make us look as the greater fools.

The Matra everyone can do what they like with their stake is TRUE.

If you would like to replace it with "As stupid is so stupid does" that may also be true.

If you have nearly 3 years in like @frot and I do, although you can see the truth is many are making bad decisions... There is no sense of accountability or influence to change it.

So the difficulty becomes, do you walk away or do you stay?

I agree, I probably over-simplified with the one pump fixes this statement, but I guess I know how much effort and time frot would be walking away from.

I've never thought we could compete with Facebook, but I think many can and will earn. It is pretty clear when it comes to building a social media site our largest stakeholders including Ned just aren't that passionate about it. Some are busy playing "coinstacker" and some of the rest are too impatient because they aren't rich yet.

They can not and will not hold the course. They see investment as get money out instead of put time and money IN.

So, yeah while we have major problems I don't have much hope in a sudden change, so each person will have to decide if it is worth it to keep on looking for small ways to impact it.

Well spoken, I stay, because I can see those small ways to have an impact.
