Team Malaysia Challenge - Sabah Tourism Board

After a meet-up session with my clients earlier, I've got the opportunity to pass by Sabah Tourism Board and take a quick photo of the building. With photos taken, here is my post for the Merdeka Challenge 😁

The building will be 100 years old next year March and the building is now gazetted for conservation and heritage. Long time ago, it was known as a Jesselton post office before renovated as a bank offices. And by 1987, the government ministry took over the building for the state tourism board and information centre.

I also took the opportunity to take a photo of Kilometre Zero or KM0 which was planted in front of the Sabah Tourism building to mark it as the starting measuring point of all the places in Sabah. So for better understanding , there is two ways small road in between the post - 2nd world war building and Sabah Tourism building is at the end of these road . This whole straight stretch of road is call Gaya Street.

Sabah Tourism Board is so well located as tourist would usually hang around this famous street, especially every Sunday, it is when Sabahan community regardless of race, religion and ethnicity come together to trade, showcase their goods and most importantly to celebrate diversity.

So in the future if you plan to visit Kota Kinabalu make sure you have a Sunday on your holiday so you could walk through Gaya Street and at the end the street, make a stop at the famous Sabah Tourism Board.
