Tell Your Story Contest/ My Vision
Hello steemians friends, here's my entry to the contest "Tell your story". I hope you like it.
Thanks to @danieldoughty for promoting a theme that makes personal experiences motive for reflection and fair assessment of them by each of us, as the case may be.
I enclose three drawings of my authorship, which recreate the most significant scenes.
See you next time.
My vision
It was April 19th, early at night. I don't remember the year, but many have already passed. What I do remember well is that it was Holy Week, a time of high season on the eastern beaches of my beloved Venezuela. At that time I lived with my youngest children in the city of Barcelona, Anzoátegui State. My house was right next to a phone booth, with a closed pass in the middle, so I could see north, south and both sides of the east to west. At approximately 8 pm, I went to the public telephones and saw that they were not available for the time being and, when I returned home, I looked to the north, which from my position was to my right. Then I marveled at seeing a splendid moon, as big and full as I had ever seen it. It had an intense orange color, almost red, very bright. I stopped to look at her for a few seconds and walked into the house to tell my children that they should go out and see this. Since it took some time, I left them and returned to see that moon again, which was so close that it seemed to land on top of the surrounding buildings. It took me only eight or ten minutes and then, looking for her with my eyes, ¡what a surprise! ¿Were my eyes cheating on me? She wasn't there anymore. But my curiosity, my instinct, my perplexity, my astonishment, my desire to see her again; what do I know, made me look in all directions. And, to the west I saw a very large circle, which was her, but its color and brilliance vanished, at the same time and without my being able to assimilate what was happening, she made a movement and escaped at full speed, until she disappeared.
I must limit two things that will make you understand my stupor of the moment, but of infinite happiness for having had that marvelous experience; I told my children and all those who wanted to hear me, but apparently no one saw anything, neither the neighbors, nor the pile of people who were waiting for the phones, nor the passers-by, nobody....
The first: That I saw a FULL moon, in a place in the sky where I had never seen it appear before.
The second: The next day I found out, to be sure, what phase the moon was in yesterday. Everyone I asked said the same thing to me: that they didn't know anything about it, but it was certainly not full. That night I was very attentive: the moon came out through its usual place, and it was ¡FOURTH GROWING!
You can imagine the relief I felt, when you see that, in fact, among so many people who could see and did not see, I was privileged, as if that meant something very important, that I deserved it, that I had that right, that it was a gift, a free sample... And so I have been wondering and answering me: Yes, it was a gift, yes I deserved it, yes I had the right, because I always waited for it. I never closed my eyes to such a possibility. I never denied what's in sight. At first I would read anything on the subject, eagerly, almost hopelessly. Not now, I'm calm, that tranquility that gives you the certainty of being true. BECAUSE I LIVED IT.
If you want to participate here you get the rules, good luck.
