The electricity went out.

And we decided to go a little traditional this night.

Just a few hours ago, the lights went out when we were having dinner. There was a thunderstorm so we thought that the safety switch flipped itself, but apparently it wasn't the case. The strong wind blew down some trees around my area (including a rambutan tree behind my house) and some wires were pulled down by the trees. So, the entire residential area lost access to electricity at the time of writing...

Of course, losing access to electricity can't be the best thing possible. Everyone still has things to be done and we all still need to have dinner. So, my grandfather took out some candles and used them to light up the dining area. It's a rare sight, but sure an interesting one. It's not like we have candles during dinner all the time!

The living room is kinda boring with the absense of television shows tonight, but we have candles...well sure, no noise, no videos or stuff, but it does its job nicely of lighting the place up. And, it looks pretty in some ways. The candle flame is something unique only to them.

It has been a very long time since we last used candles. They are not bright enough for us to do paper-work so my mum and other peeps in the family used their phone's flashlights to assist the candles in their job. Not the most optimal lighting setup for eyesight and visibility, but should be enough for a night.

How did I wrote this post then? Well, the phone's battery life is pretty great - same for this keyboard with Bluetooth capabilities. I don't normally use the backlight (it's purely for cosmetic purposes if used during the day), but it proves to be extra useful in cases like these :)

Until now, the electricity is not back up yet...we're still waiting for the technicians to fix the wiring and bring the lights up. It will be a little hard to sleep without the air conditioner too (due to the naturally hot weather in this country, it will quickly wake us up during the night if the rain stops). Must have been a very busy day for the peeps in the fire brigade, they sure have a lot of cases to attend today.

Now I'll just wait for the electricity to come back, hopefully it won't take too long. When something that we have relied on for a long time goes unavailable, we will scream for a moment and question how did our ancestors lived without them...it's kinda amusing to think about it, but it does feel like our list of basic necessities are extending from generation to generation. Interesting? I think so. :P

That's all for now then! See you around :)

And now it's your turn to face this. :pain:

Well my housing area had almost the same situation, with exclusions to the electricity outage part (only street lamp wires got knocked down by trees and the locals got to close that part of the road for ±15 hours after the storm), there's only few fallen trees (not to mention one with a wasp nest till we need to call the fire brigade to help out), but everything's OK now.

Well hope the electricity is back on your side. :nom:

It did came back at around 2 or 3am...my eyes opened up slightly to see it. Yesterday night's sleep is kinda horrible without the air conditioner...let's hope that I can actually get some decent sleep tonight, have to wake up earlier tomorrow too :ded:

你写了长长一篇,我唯一看懂了就是“停电”和“树倒了”

It indeed didn't rain today...but it's crazy hot. Typical Malaysia weather, lol.
