Hello guys, how's your day? already eat ? haha

Today, I wanna share you about the Dim Sum. I'm pretty sure it's so yummy! you must try it. If not, you will regret (haha kidding) Ok, ni masa sya sama kawan sya mkn di Sabah Hotel Sandakan, tidak jauh dari bandar. Time tu kawan sya juga yang bawa sya makan sana. But, that time tidak bnyk dim sum yg kmi rasa dsana coz, bnyk habis. Too much delicious that's why la cepat habis HAHA. But, it's okay. Asal kenyang d perut. Then, after a few weeks we find another restaurant chinese yg ada dim sum juga. Cos, not all chinese restaurant ada dim sum. Then, we found it! ia bertempat di indah jaya, mile 4 name of restaurant is "Kedai kopi indah" bersebelahan dengan kedai happy mart. But, be sure to go early morning. Because, it always packed of people early in the morning even though the restaurant is spacious. Not all the dim sum will suit your taste. But nevertheless, I'll still like the bean curd, siew mai, har gao(prawn dumpling) etc. Also, great place for freshly prepared dim sum at very affordable prices.

Ok, let's straight to the point.

What is in a dim sum?

~ A traditional dim sum brunch includes various types of steamed buns such as cha siu bao (a steamed bun filled with barbecue pork), rice or wheat dumplings and rice noodle rolls, which contain a range of ingredients, including beef, chicken, pork, prawns, and vegetarian options.

What is dim sum?

~Dim sum is a Chinese meal of small plates best enjoyed with tea in the company of family and friends. Dim sum is literally translated to mean " touch the heart ". Dim sum dishes are usually served with tea ad together form a full cooked, ready-to-serve dishes. In Cantonese teahouses, carts with dim sum will be served around the restaurant for diners to order from without leaving their seats. The Cantonese tradition of having endless cups of tea and dim sum is also called yum cah, which means "drink tea" in Cantonese. Taken together, dim sum is a meal of small dishes served with tea comprised of a collection of savory and sweet tastes from a variety of steamed and fried buns, dumplings and rolls.

~ The first, early 20th century incarnations of dim sum dishes were larger, starchier dumplings intended for the blue collar appetites of day laborars who needed a quick, hearty meal during the day. While examples of these traditional dishes can still be found in old Hong Kong dim sum parlors like Lin Heung, contemporary restaurants today often produce a dizzying array of 100+ lighter dishes during a typical meal service ranging from the steamed chicken feet known as fong djau to the taro root dumplings known as wu gohk

There's nothing too difficult 'bout ordering and dinind at a dim sum restaurant, but here are a few tips to clear up any confusion. Food comes served in steam table trolleys stacked high with bamboo or metal steamer baskets.

~ Start with tea. You should be given a pot of tea as soon as you first sit down. Most dim sum restaurants will have a few varieties of tea on hand and will probably get you a different type if you prefer it over their house tea. Check the tea before you pour to make sure it's steeped enough. When empty the pot, turn the lid upside down or leave it ajar to let the waiter know you want a refill. To be extra polite, make sure to fill up other people's glasses before your own, and tap the table to thank someone for filing yours.

~ Ordering. This is pretty simple. Just let the food come to you. They get pushed around the restaurant from table to table, and diners order by pointing at the dishes they want. Just nod or "yes" if you're in. Good rule of thumb, if you're not sure what it is, try it. Dont't see your favourite dish in the dining room? well, just ask for it.

~ Utensils. Chopsticks are the norm, but don't feel bad about asking for a fork if you need one. The basic rules of chopsticks apply : don't spear your food with them, and don't leave them sticking straight up in a bowl of rice when you're not using them. Instead, lay them horizontally on the edge of the plate.

~ Want rice with that ? Steamed white rice can be ordered upon request, and it's a good way to cleanse your palate between bites of strongly seasoned dim sum fare. Oh, and you can pour sauce on your rice if you want , but it's intended to be a plain, bland accompaniment.

Share! as with most small plates dining, the more people you have and the more dishes you order, the better the experience will be for everyone. So, what are you waiting for? go grab it now! bring your family and friends, also don't forget to ask them to pay for your meal. HAHA
