Depression is suicidal

Last night I watched the TV series Hawaii Five-O. I am not actually a fan of that series but since there are not many channels that are interesting, so I think I will just watch it for a few minutes to see how the stories goes. It started with a car accident and coincidentally an off duty cop saw it and tried to reprimand the culprit. He took out his gun and told the driver to step out from his car, as he got closer, he saw that the guy has a gun in his hand and were about to commit suicide.

The story about the suicidal guy unfolded plot by plot. He was actually trying to run away after being accused of murdering his wife, unfortunately, he had an accident and couldn't get away. The policeman tried to communicate and comforted the guy, and eventually the guy opened up and told him that he didn't killed his wife, but he felt guilty for her death. The other detectives took sometime to find an evidence to prove the guy's claims, fortunately an ATM across the street captured a video of the guy leaving his apartment just before his wife killed her selves by jumping off from their high rise apartment. She actually committed suicide because of depression and mental problem.

The guy actually has tried to get help for his wife, but the lady didn't want any help, so they often had a verbal fight and the lady always tries to injure her own selves. On the night she committed suicide, she was going to swallow sleeping pills, but her husband was able to grab it away after some fierce struggles. He was so fed up about his wife situation, before he left her, he told her that he doesn't care anything about her anymore, those are the last words that he regret later on. He actually loves his wife so much, that he is willing to end his life and to end his sufferings.

The plot became more interesting too, as the cop him selves almost committed suicide a few years back. During his previous case, he was unable to stop a guy from murdering his own son before committing suicide. He was filled with guilt and getting more depressed day by day until he can't stand it anymore. He was about to kill him selves by shooting a gun straight through his heart, but before he could pull the trigger, he heard a sound of glass breaking on the floor. He thought a robber might have entered his house. He slowly walked towards the sound, and saw his son on the kitchen's floor picking up the pieces of broken glass. He was saved that day because of his son, he could have committed suicide. So, he sought help by joining a group of people who have the same problem like him, but on his last day with the group, as he was a few steps out of the door, a lady asked him why he is quitting. This is his answer "I can't keep on doing this, it's not helping me much, I need to move on, I have to go away, to a new place, to a new beginning", and that's how he end up in Hawaii from Chicago.

The moral of the story is, depression is not something that can be solved by getting a psychiatrist or a group of people to help you out. It can ease the pain and the mind, but it will never go away. It all depends on your own selves and your determination not to give in, not to give up on life. If the place where you stay makes you depress, or the environment and the people around you makes you depressed, why not just leave it and move further away, and start a new life? I know it is easier to say than accomplishing it, no one said that life would be easy, not even for those ordinary and normal people. life is beautiful, you can be happy in life, but only you can make your self happy, not others or anyone else.

Oh yes, would you like to know the conclusion of the Hawaii Five-O story? The cop managed to convince the guy not to commit suicide, after telling him his story. It was an emotional end, and worth to watch every minute of it.
