The true center of every home is the mother. No one else can ever take her place. Her tastes, her desires, her ideals, like those of the little mother bird (I talked about in a story here) will influence everything that goes on within that home. All the interests and activities of a happy family center around the mother. If she is kind and cultured, her home will reflect her fine ideals. But if she is careless or ignorant, the home will quickly show her poor attitude or lack of training.

Education is very important to a young man if he is to succeed in the business and professional world. Everyone will agree on this. But education in the art of home-making is even more important for a young woman, for into her hands has been committed the very future of the human race. Every girl should be given thorough training in the principles of health, child care and home skills. The success of the family, the community, the nation and the world depends on the young women of today and the kind of homes they establish. There is no greater responsibility than this.

The woman makes sure that the home is bright filled with sunshine and warmth. The atmosphere and environment of the house should be sweet and clean for the family to live and enjoy.
Above all, it should be a place of joy and love, a place where the door is ever open to friends and neighbors, and where even strangers will be received with hospitality and kindness.

I hope you know this doesn't apply in single dads homes, even though you have a point.

This is a lovely piece @scarletmedia. The father is the head of the family,we are not arguing, but the mother is the centre of the family. Everything in the family revolves around her;the father and the children.Without her family is incomplete..Great point of view you've got.

A wife's/mothers presence in a home is of extreme importance since most men are not ready or incapable of taking up the kinds of burden borne by a woman in the name of home-keeping.

I feel sometimes under a siege of my folks, but in average, it is a good feeling to be a center.
It is. If you pull it off well to the admiration of family and friends, it is a good feeling. I wish to experience it when the time comes... Still single 😉
