I found a similar tree (probably a totally different species) in my neighborhood with fantastic violet flowers growing on it. The only one I have seen in our region.
Wish I could have found a better light condition for the photo to showcase the colors. At least you can see what the tree design looks like.
That is something alright - wish I could get a closer look. There are some 49 species in the genus so it is possibly related to the same tree. Wikipedia has an entire breakdown of the different species and as you are near the tree, you would probably be better at identifying it visually Here is the link if you are keen
And again, thank you for your continued support - I also wrote a piece on Marula trees, not sure if they grow in the States though but if you can get your hands on a few seeds of them, you should definitely try and grow them. They are quite easy to grow as long as conditions are favorable and not too cold. Marula
