MOUNT PANORAMA BATHURST 1000 - now the Sandown 500 is almost upon us!

The hum of the Mountain is beginning as it's starting to come alive! The countdown to the iconic Bathurst Mount Panorama Races is on and the preparations are well underway as the Great Race nears...

The Mount is currently a hive of activity as workers, me included, are like little busy bees...here, there and everywhere as plans fall into place..or not!
Erecting the marquees was hard yakka today!

After 20 odd years of living in Bathurst we tend to take for granted having the Mount in town. Can do a lap whenever we want, or not.. couldn't be bother most of the time. But I must say, it is a pain in the arse trying to get bread or milk race weekend. Or anything for that matter, as the shelves are picked clean from the influx of people into the town.

Good luck trying to book a place to stay if you haven't already..everything is booked out. Even the sports field of tents called tent city is booked out!

The upside of living in Bathurst is we get to see the Roulettes fly directly over our house both mid week practice, and race day. And we can watch it on tele, and here them racing around the mount outside

Haven't paid for an entry ticket in years either..so another bonus I suppose :)

Bit of luck the roos stay off the track this year, and holes don't appear on the road surface...
