My Adventure " A call to the bowls"
Firstly I like to thank @gohba.handcrafts for writing the article "Lets see this great country"
Sunday, 16th of July
Wake up, look to otherside of my bed, my partner is missing then I realised its Sunday and its 9am she has gone to work I didnt even hear her get dressed.
Brush my teeth, eat food wonder what I should do today? oh yeah football sunday! Looks outside what a nice day then a light bulb moment happens " I should check out the Covelly bowls club "
Google search, " Kirribilli to Covelly lawn bowls "
Pack my bag, walk to Kirribilli wharf and it's lively. We have a cafe on our wharf and people line up and wait to eat and drink.
I only wait a few minutes and Alexander the great appears to the right
Next stop Circular quay but on the way I act like a tourist and take a photo of our iconic Opera House and the big coat hanger. (Sydney Harbour Bridge)
Arrive at Circular quay and I feel a buzz. Sydney is celebrating Bastille festival. So I take a quick snap of "Claudette" before my bus is arrives.
I jump on bus 339 and 440 to Covelly lawn bowls. Realising on sundays opal travel do a special on all day travel for just under $3.
Bargain !!!
I arrive at Bronte/Covelly and I am gobsmacked at the view of this beautiful country and state even though I am Queenslander. N.S.W finally won in my eyes for the day.
After gazing at the horizon. I google map my current location and proceed walking to the lawn bowls but realise I need to walk through the cemetery, the cemetery felt peaceful and silent. The perfect resting place for us hard working Australians.
After a few minutes I arrive at my destination Covelly Bowling Recreational Club.
I walk in, sign in look at all the beers they have to offer no sight of XXXX. So I bit my tongue and asked for a Tooheys NEW.
After soaking up my beer and the view, I decided to beat my partner home and act like ive been watching the football all day. Its our little secret, until her days off. I cant wait to show her this little treasure of a spot.
My journey back in pictures.
The little cafe at my wharf is now shut for the day.
Thank you for taking the time to read my short adventure to Covelly lawn club. I'm tapping off for the night :)
Wake up, look to otherside of my bed, my girlfriend is missing then I realised its Sunday and its 9am she has gone to work. I didnt even hear her get dressed.
Brush my teeth, eat food wonder what I should do today? I'll just stay inside and watch Sunday football.
great work SirBob i love the effort you put into this and showing off sydney.
I'll accept this as your entry mate, no need to put pics in comment on my story :)
Cheers gohba. Looking forward to more challenges.
Nice pictures. Did you end up rolling down a few?
Badly wanted to. No one else were on the greens and I was solo. Hopefully @teamaustralia can organise an event in each city. Would love to make new friends in sydney.

Cheers Elrond.
Depending on the day I may have walked around the cemetary making my trip even longer XD
Sounds like a good walk and aaargh that bridge, I never really thought of it as a coathanger but now that's all I can see XD
Yeah definitely will next time. I was hans solo and wanted to experience the day with some one. I didn't expect to find what I found. Lol the coat hanger sorry. I can make it better, the opera house looks like yacht sails.
Lol 😂 wasnt it supposed to look like waves or yacht sails or something though?
Amazing pictures... you painted your quick trip very nicely! hope you enjoyed football the next day! well done, followed!
