Colours and a cuppa for @galenkp's mother in law
@galenkp recently wrote about planning a trip with his mother in law who is currently undergoing chemo. I said in a comment on that post that I would do a skinhead mohawk for her (the mohawk is my normal hair, the skinhead version is only done for special events) and asked what her favourite colours were.
Then got a friend who is a hairdresser to have some fun with my hair.
Then made a get-well card.
I'm going to make @galenkp 100% beneficiary of this thing, I don't exactly get the most useful post payouts but maybe he can use it to contribute to a cup of beverage of choice for mother in law or something XD
- when we confirmed I was going skinhead, friend touched my head with the clippers, winced and fliched the clippers away, asked if I was really sure, and then buzzed the fuzz off XD
- friend's partner and mine thought it was green and gold and that I was being patriotic XD
- my friend and her daughter apparently had epic arguments in the shop about the hair colours, "But these ones are brighter!" "But these ones blend better!" would have been hilarious to witness XD daughter ended up winning and I think she picked pretty well :)

In all honesty, I haven't, but I tried short once and with glasses it just didn't give the look I expected. It was okay when I took my glasses off, but that could have been because I could no longer see properly! 😆

The only problem with this pattern is if I ever decide to do shenanigans comics as it’s asymmetrical 🤣 I should get my arse in gear actually as I have two to do now; one really should have been done back home but my sp4 was being a brat and now that I’m back on the mainland and thought I’d worked out all this term’s logistics something major changed 🙄

Hey @ryivhnn this is pretty cool! I happen to be at my mother in-law's right now so I showed her. She thinks it's such a nice gesture considering you don't know her.
My mother in-law is such a pragmatic person and has been a bit of a trooper with the chemo despite it being pretty hectic. It was good to see a smile on her face so thank you!

I added a droppa to the cuppa and I think you're awesome but you know that by now. One thing I can't wrap my head around though is how your hairdo seems to be the total opposite of what I'd expect from your behavior ( online ). haha! I guess looks do often deceive ;>)

That's sweet to do, and it's a pretty cool look. I'm pretty boring with my hair, but I love colour in my artworks, sometimes :)
