Ryan's Ideas (Ry-deas) Volume 1: Apps - The good the bad and the ugly

in #teamaustralia6 years ago (edited)

Every day I write down 10 ideas...

Why? Because James Altucher told me to.

The reasoning? The mind is like a muscle if it doesn't get used, it atrophies.

By constantly practising the process of creating and connecting abstract ideas and concepts your mind will adapt, new connections will be formed and your idea machine will become more powerful every day.

Having seen two Grandparents, and now my Dad suffer through some form of degenerative brain disease I'm pretty keen to do all I can to keep mine in tip-top shape!

Most of the ideas will be terrible, some will be mediocre, maybe 1 out of 10000 will be great.

To give myself some accountability and to share the idea love, I'm going to start sharing my ideas to Steemit.

Disclaimer: Open to Collaboration but All ideas free to a good home. I've learned that ideas are worth very little and that execution is everything.... However, If you decide to run with one of these and make millions, I'm partial to Japanese Whisky and Italian Motorcycles.

Today Ideas: Mobile Apps

  • Shiftee - A social schedule sharing app for shift workers. Create groups with your friends, upload the shifts you are working and shiftee will let you know when you and your friends are free and recommend events in the local area

  • Mow Me- An on demand uber-eque/airtasker lawn mowing service. Lawns are extremely inconsiderate and don't grow on a schedule. Book in a monthly lawn service with Jim's mowing and by the time he turns up the lawn will either have not grown at all, or look like a scene from Jurassic Park. The alternative: Sign up for Mow Me, input your address, when your lawn needs mowing hit the button and Mow Me will provide a quote based google maps data of your property. Gardners in the area that are signed up to mow me will get notified of the job, accept, then turn up and cut your lawn.

  • Music Matchmaker - A dating app that will scan your itunes/spotify etc and match you people depending on how closely your musical preferences match.

  • They Choose - Another dating app, similar to hotornot the app will randomly select two headshots of users (within set location limits) and present them to other users who can then vote on whether they look like a good couple or not

  • Omegle Seniors edition- Pretty much just a randomised video chat but extremely simplified so that people in nursing homes can chat with each other because from what I've seen they can get lonely as fuck...

  • Photo Trainer Provides examples of photos for the users to try and recreate, gradually reveals clues as to composition and settings required. App examines Meta-data of photo to give a score

  • Mourning Mastery- Locks locks your phone and hides all notifications until your successfully tick off all your morning routine tasks. Stop the cycle of waking up and endlessly scrolling instagram/facebook (Steemit's cool)

  • Do you need it - Prettty much the exact opposite of after/zip-pay. Want to buy something? Looking for instant gratification and retail therapy but probably can't afford it? Do you need it holds your money for 30 days, then prompts you as to whether you still want to buy whatever seemed so damn important at the time.

  • I Appreciate - Integrates with social media accounts, randomly selects someone each day, brings up messaging window and prompts you to let them know something you appreciate about them

  • 10 a day - This exact process, in app form. Randomnly generates a topic, then lets you fill in your 10 ideas for the day.

That's it for today! Want to share some ideas of your own? Leave them in the comments!

Shawn Achor's "The Happiness Advantage" taught me the power of gratitude
Let's spread some across Steemit! If you want to comment but don't know what to say, just tell me 3 things you’re grateful for today and why. If you’re struggling to come up with ideas try:

Something temporary (your coffee, the sunshine)
A person
An object.

Recent double blind placebo controlled studies have shown following @lifeofryan also greatly increases happiness :)
