Afternoon delight! Scones

One of the most popular and profitable little snacks on my menu is the good old scones with cream and my homemade raspberry jam.
These little fluffy stunners are easy to make, quick and can be eaten all day.

3 ingredients and your off and running.
9 cups of self raising flour
250gm of melted salted margarine
3 cups of full cream milk

Combine all your ingredients in a large bowl and need them through with your hands until you form a nice firm ball. Move onto your bench and continue to need it through. You shouldn't need to flour your bench if you have followed my recipe. It can obviously be reduced depended how much you want to make.

Now with a cutter of your choice (size wise) cut the scones out and lay them out of a tray with grease proof paper. The cutter will ensure they keep a nice form for when they are baking.

Bake your scones at 180 defeees Celsius for around 20 minutes. You can cut one open to check the centre and see if it's still "dowey" or ready
Cut one in half and serve with fresh whipped cream and your favourite jam flavour.
These can also be used as savoury scones by adding some fresh herbs and garlic. I have used them to put smoked salmon sour cream on top. Delicious
