PH: Teaching

I am a public high school teacher. I have been teaching here for almost half a decade. I teach TLE or Technology and Livelihood Education specializing on Technical Drafting. Teaching is awesome. I feel very good after every teaching session, I feel that I am living on purpose. I even do not consider this a job but a mission given by God.

Today, we are having our Third Mid-periodic Test. Only 24 questions are given in every subject. The students are given an hour to finish the test per subject. However, students in our school take the test swiftly. I mean for only 15 minutes they are done with the test. Although they answer so quickly, I am not bothered because I know they will give me good scores as they have been doing from the start.

Honestly, in my class, students tend to act very accordingly because I am a disciplinarian and authoritarian, in a positive note. My huge and thunder like voice that can be heard in the four corners of the classroom has been helpful to keep that discipline-wise teaching and learning relationship. Again, I appear to be an authoritative type of teacher but I know I also blend in to the level of my millenial students.

I receive many invitations to teach outside the country and they offer a huge compensation. Honestly, I always turn down their invitations by giving them lame answers like, "I dont like the climate there", "I don't think long distance relationship with my girlfriend will work", "I don't need extra money". But, honestly, my real answer is I am already happy here. Yes, I am just in my comfort zone, but here is my HOME.
