blog and website a teacher's advantage in education
Before I became a teacher I was not a big fan of blogging. Until I found a way to make this site useful to students. I am able to share my lessons, presentation and upcoming videos from my students. I want to share how I made this Idea to others who wants to integrate online site to your class.
Students nowadays have smart phones and laptop and they can access online. We can make this online access helpful to their learning.
below are steps on how you can do it.
Make sure to know your niche (for teachers, you can focus your topic about your subjects). upload your lessons including your presentation. This would help the students to read online since they are fond of using their gadget to access social media why not let them read the lesson online.
Get them involved in your blogging site. The blog site is not just about blogging. They can also submit their reaction about a certain activity (movie reflection, commentary blogs/news/events). They can also submit their assignment online.
Make use of other sites. other activities can be from submission of assignment to creating a video documentation. Don't forget to utilize other websites like, facebook.com, youtube.com and other websites. Youtube.com can be embedded in your blogging site as well.
Blog some interesting article that can be related to their age. let your blog be interesting. You can create a blog that offers sneakpeak or scoop about the events in your school.
Remind you students that their is something interesting with your blog. Simple advertising can be interesting for your students. encourage them to utilize technology in education.
For my experience, I hired an apprentice who can take care of some blogs and may submit blogs to be posted in your blog site. This can make your task easier and they can also benefit the site by getting info and lessons for your face to face activity at school. There are a lot of activities that can involve your students online and a lot of possibilities that can be made online. Technology is always improving, device a way to utilize technology in education.
