GINGER TEA
Hello everyone, good morning. These rainy days have brought a surge in viruses, flu, colds, bronchitis, tonsillitis, and so on. The rainy season seems to stir up what was already settled in the air, and the pollution in some areas contributes to a proliferation of all sorts of illnesses. But colds and sore throats are the most common, which is why we turn to teas.
I recently had a pretty bad case of the flu, and although I followed my prescribed treatment to the letter, I also used natural remedies. I must admit that the ginger recommendations were spot on, not only as a tea, but also in steam inhalations and even chewed. The flavor is strong, and if you have a sore throat, it stings quite a bit when you swallow, but after a while, you start to feel relief.
I bought two fairly large ginger roots and saved them for times like now, when I'm feeling a sore throat again. Yesterday, I made a strong tea with honey, and today I added lemon balm leaves. The flavor is very pleasant with these last two ingredients, and it tastes even better warm.
