Tea plantation in Nepal is done in the areas close to the mountains. Ilam is very close to Mount Kanchenjunga, the world third highest mountain. The fresh mountain air blowing through Ilam makes it more suitable for tea plantation. The tea leaves grown here are fresh, healthy and pure. You feel Himalayan air flowing through your blood veins when you drink fresh tea here in Nepal.

Photo shot from the highway before reaching to main town of Ilam. There are another districts in Nepal where tea cultivation is done. They are: Dhankuta, Jhapa, Panchthar and Tehrathum. Jhapa is the district which borders to Ilam and is near to it.
